Congratulations to Mr. Laine and Ms. Holmes! They received a BISD Education Foundation grant to upgrade their Mixcraft software which allows users to combine and record audio files to create music. Our BMS Bulldogs LOVE Mixcraft!
Bandera Middle School attended the 29th annual District 28 - 4A Middle School One Act Play competition in Fredericksburg on 12/3/16. They performed the play "Rest in Peace" by Pat Cook, directed by Mrs. Spikes. BMS received the first place award for the third time in four years!
The cast and crew also received several individual awards: Best Tech - Havana Auguirre Honorary All Star Cast Savanna Foster All Star Cast- Kelly Columbia and Colton White Best Actor Award - Dylan Ortiz. This weekend, members of the Bandera Middle School Band competed in the Region 29 All-Region Band competition. Kendra Schwartz and Austin Abitz each won the state anti-substance abuse art competition (age 12-14 category) sponsored by the Knights of Columbus. This weekend was a great weekend for the Bandera Middle School Band! Eighteen students traveled to Peasall Junior High to audition for the ATSSB Region 11 All-Region Band on Saturday. In this contest, students compete against students from other schools who play their instrument.
Mr. Elrod is proud to say that Bandera Middle School had eight students qualify for the region band! That is more than double the number of students to make the region band last year (3). BMS had more people make the region band this year than auditioned for the region band two years ago. Making the all region concert band were.... Congratulations, BMS Band! The BMS choir program has been collecting items to send to U.S. military troops serving over seas. Choir students wrote to professional sports teams to obtain items for the boxes, as well. Many teams sent items, and some teams even sent personal notes back to the students who wrote the team. There will be a DVD of the choirs singing different Christmas songs as well a few messages to the troops. The choir hope that the packages will provide a little bit of "home" to our troops as they as serving our country.
