This spring in the 8th grade ELA and reading classes, students studied WW II and the Holocaust. In addition to a trip to the San Antonio Holocaust Memorial Museum, the students read novels and a play and conducted research. Pictured here are artifacts that the students created to represent their learning. A big Bulldog thank you to the professionals who shared their time and talent with the 8th grade during Career Day.
Congratulations to the newly inducted NJHS members and their families. Thank you, Mr. Wilkinson, for your stewardship of NJHS this school year.
Despite a rainy forecast, the annual AR field trip was a resounding success. A great big thank you to Ms. Kromer, Mrs. Milner, Mrs. Frierson, the parent chaperones, Mr. McDonald, Mrs. Wilson, and the ELA department for all helping to make the day memorable.
The BMS Symphonic Band attended the UIL band contest at Boerne Champion High School. Every judge gave them a Division 1 rating on stage for the first time in the history of BMS. In the words of Mr. Heiner, "That's awesome!" Here's a recording of one of the pieces they played at UIL. Kendra Schwartz and Austin Abitz each won the state anti-substance abuse art competition (age 12-14 category) sponsored by the Knights of Columbus. Samara Jimenez's poster also advanced to the state competition. |
