BMS students received over $1817.00 in free books at the Scholastic Book Fair this week. Students redeemed AR points earned over the course of the school year at the rate of $0.10 per point. Thanks to all who support the Book Fair and help us to provide free literacy materials to BMS students. If you still need books, you can purchase through our on-line fair through next week. Helpful links: BHS Course Catalog Graduation Toolkit BHS Counselor Page Ms.Ayers from Bandera County Groundwater and River Authority paid a visit to Bandera Middle School on Wednesday March 18. She showed the students a few of many jobs involving environmental science. Among these jobs were well services, environmental lawyer, and environment engineering. Students rotated around the displays and learned what the jobs do for the environment. (Guest writers: Coach Lenz's students) While studying about spiders and their habitats, Mrs. Elrod's class made a spider web using yarn. The students and teachers had to maneuver through the web without breaking any of the threads. Author Lisa Schroeder Skyped with over thirty BMS students during World Read Aloud Day. Ms. Schroeder encouraged the students to carve out time each day to read for fun. She also encouraged them to try new things because "we never know what we might be good at until we try" something. Ms. Schroeder read to the students from The Bridge From Me to You and showed off the cover of her upcoming book All We Have Is Now. Her book My Secret Guide To Paris will be on our Scholastic Book Fair after Spring Break. Shop now on our online fair.

Thanks to a generous grant from the BISD Education Foundation, BMS students were able to travel to St. Phillips College on February 26 to tour the campus and visit the automotive technology department.
Thanks to a generous grant from the BISD Education Foundation, BMS students were able to attend a career and college field trip to UTHSC on February 26. In addition to learning about the university, students got some hands-on practice suturing. Keep your eye out for students wearing the "Future Doctor" t-shirts and ask them about the trip!
