vs. Medina Valley We faced Medina Valley last night and the 7th grade girls came out to play. They were fired up and showed huge improvements from a great first game effort last week. A team didn't manage to get the W, but the B team pulled it out and got the win in the final seconds of the game with a grat show of teamwork by the Lady Dogs. A team score 21-39 Scorers: Cora Botos led with 8, Izzy Kennedy scored 5, Maddie Garza contributed 4, and Sally Sheets and Taelen Butler added 2 apiece. B team score 20-19 Scorers: Aleeza Menchaca led the team with 6, Rhianna Garza had 5, Abby Prater added 4, Sarah Guajardo scored 3, and Xara Martinez contributed 2. vs. Wimberley A team lost a tough first game to Wimberley 12-34. Scorers for the Lady Dogs in their first ever Bulldog basketball game were Cora Botos with 6, Sally Sheeds with 4, and Cameryn Oullette with 2. B team also lost a great game 12-33. Scoring was spread out for the Lady Bulldogs with Abby Prater scoring 4, Xara Martinez, Sarah Guajardo, Aleeza Menchaca, and Allee Gray scoring 2 apiece. This past Thursday, the Bandera Middle School Football team played host to Navarro in their last game of the season. The Bulldogs fell 34 - 6. the offence was lead by running back Jesus Cardenas with again over 100 yds rushing, of that was a 70 yard TD run for the Bulldogs only points. the Defense played a tough game, with exceptional effort from David Pagett and Cardenas.
The 7th grade football team ended their season with a record of 2 and 7. The Bulldogs would like to thank all the parents and students and faculty for all the support the entire season. from Coach Botos
Lady Bulldogs traveled to Fredericksburg last night. 8th A lost set 1 with a score of 26-24 and lost the 2nd set 25-10. 8th B scores were 25-14 & 25-12. 7th B 25-22 & 25-23 7th A 25-15 & 25-13 Lady Bulldogs will travel to Llano for their last game of their season. The BMS cross country teams traveled to Llano to compete in the final meet of the season - the district cross country meet. These teams attended the meet: Bandera, Llano, Fredericksburg, Salado, Wimberly, and Lampasas. While our team results were middle-of-the-road (7th girls 4th, 8th girls not enough for a team, 7th boys 4th, 8th boys 6th), there were several athletes that received individual honors: Emily Presa - 11th place - 14:54 - 7th grade girls Kaitlin Doebbler - 2nd place - 13:29 - 8th grade girls Bietzel Gonzales - 12th place - 15:02 - 8th grade girls Mack Robinson - 14th place - 13:59 - 7th grade boys Braden Cox - 5th place - 12:18 - 8th grade boys All of the cross country athletes have worked hard this year and made huge improvements. The BMS Middle School team competed at our home meet on Wednesday afternoon. The 8th grade boys placed 5th out of 9 teams. Braden Cox was 3rd overall. The 8th grade girls were 8th out of 11 teams. Kaitlin Doebbler also placed 3rd overall. The 7th grade boys were 4th out of 10 teams, and the 7th grade girls were the 2nd place team with 5 girls finishing in the top 25. The 7th grade Lady Bulldogs faced off against the Llano Daubers on Monday night. The 7th grade B team overcame an early deficit and won their match in 2 sets through strong serving. The 7th grade A team started off strong winning their first set 25 - 19, but were unable to outlast the Daubers, losing the last two sets. The Lady Bulldogs are improving and look forward to competing in their tournament this Saturday in Llano. 7th B - 25-22, 25-13 7th A - 25-19, 16-25, 8-25 The 8th grade lady bulldogs lost in 3 matches. The highlights of the game include Mackenzie Williams scoring 14 points off consecutive serves. Also, Mackenzie Williams and Brianna Honnaker both scored a point off of kills. 8th A also took the Lady Daubers to 3 sets. Great serving by: Lydia Lacy, Pacee Faglie, & Lindsay Wisdom. The 7th grade girls' volleyball team traveled to Wimberly to play the Texans on Monday evening. The B team lost to Wimberly in 2 games. Some of the highlights included Kamrynn Golightly serving 7 times in a row and Cheyenne Collins with 2 kills. The 7th grade A team also fell to Wimberly in 2 games. The Lady Bulldogs did put up a good fight, scoring twice as many points as they did in their first match against the Texans. 7th B 25-14 and 25-14 7th A 25-12 and 25-16 The lady dogs lost to wimberely 25-14 and 25-16. Jasmine and Tatum both went on a serving streak to keep the game neck and neck. The lady dogs will continue to put in the work during practice to secure future wins. 8th grade A did their usually by taking it to 3 sets. The Lady Dogs lost the first set 25-13 but during the second set we had great serving performed by Pacee Faglie, Aubrey Mangold & April Rodriguez who help to contribute to the win with a score of 25-21. We fell short the third set losing 25-10. Great job ladies keep up the good work! Next game will be at home, Monday October 1st. The Bandera Middle School Cross Country team braved the wet and chilly weather on Saturday and competed in their second cross country meet of the year. While our team results were less than spectacular, there many individual accomplishments. Braden Cox placed 4th in the 8th grade boys race, and Kaitlin Doebbler earned the 2nd place medal for the 8th grade girls. Every single one of the 37 runners improved their times, some, like Madison Hacker and Gracie Wilson, made huge jumps, setting PRs by over 3 minutes.
