Eighteen middle school students met in the BMS library lab after school on Tuesday to learn some basic computer coding. First, they explored Code Maven by Crunchzilla where they followed a step-by-step tutorial to explore Javascript. Then they launched Scratch by MIT, where they moved blocks of HTML code to animate figures. Two 8th grade students and one BHS sophomore guided the students who ran into roadblocks, and Mrs. Groff is especially grateful for their willingness to help! Ms. Bagwell joined the fun and learned right along with the kids. The students had so much fun that the coding class will continue after school every Tuesday in May. Students can sign up in the library. Limit 30 students each week.
