It is once again time to start saving your Lowe's Receipts. Bandera Middle School will collect the receipts from August 17, 2015 through March 31, 2016. You can bring them by the school or send them with a student. Thanks in advance for your help and support.
You can support reading initiatives on the BMS campus by supporting our annual magazine/gift fundraiser. Not ready to purchase a magazine right now? You can continue to support our fundraiser through the link on our library website.
The Bandera 8th grade Lady Dogs opened their volleyball season at home against Fredericksburg. The B team played well but lost in 2 close sets by a score of 18-25 and 23-25. The Lady Dogs were led by Ofelia Macias and Gaby Leyva.
The A team took Fredericksburg to 3 very exciting sets with scores of 25-27, 28-26 and 13-15. Several of the Lady Dogs showed great leadership and hussle. They were Emy Jauer, Anna Guajardo, Anna Freeman, Penelope Garcia and Caitlyn Thrasher. Come out and watch some exciting volleyball as the Lady Dogs continue their season. Middle School Cross Country Jordan Edwards and Caitlyn Thrasher ran away with the cross country meet on Wednesday in Mason. Edwards finished 1st with a time of 10.25 in the mile and a half with Thrasher finishing 2nd with a time of 10.28. BMS Cross Country runners are a dedicated bunch. Meeting at school well before the sun is fully up, these students complete a full workout before the first bell of the day rings.
A public library card is a valuable possession. If you don't already have a card to the public library in your area, stop by the BMS library to pick up an application.
If you have your public library card number, you can borrow and download free ebooks and audiobooks from the Lone Star Digital Library. You will need to install the free Overdrive app on your device. Students may access the Lone Star Digital Library in the BMS Library before school and after school. Ebooks and audiobooks are great ways to read on long bus rides. There is a link to the Lone Star Digital Library on the BMS Library homepage. See Mrs. Groff if you need help. Downloading digital content over wifi is recommended. Duct tape designs, circuit boards, and an electronic guitar made from cardboard are just a few of the projects that students are working on this week #InTheLibrary. We expected a toad, but the arrival of TWO toads was a huge surprise Wednesday afternoon. Thanks, Mr. Groff, for delivering them and building a lid for their new habitat. They enjoyed a breakfast of fresh crickets this morning, and are looking forward to the meal worms that will arrive today. Several students used their advisory time today building a terrarium for the library. Meal worms and a toad will arrive on Thursday. We love #ScienceInAction. |
