Tonight the Lady Bulldogs swept the Lytle Pirates. 8th grade B team came out on fire defeating the Pirates in set 1 with a score of 25-16 and in set 2 with a score of 25-21. Great job ladies, you all did an awesome job last night. Keep up the hard work. 8th grade A team came out cold losing first set 1 losing 25-12. After that the Lady Bulldogs made up their mind to play and came out mopping up the Pirates in set 2 with a score of 25-21 taking it to set 3. Winning set 3 by a long shot with a score of 25-11 not giving the Pirates a chance to get back in the game. Great teamwork ladies, way to stay focused & doing the little things right and also THANK YOU for working as a team mopping the gym floor after the game due to a water cooler spill. 7th grade volleyball had an outstanding day yesterday! B team got things started early winning two sets, 25 - 21 and 29-27. Outstanding player was Rayney Brown, who served 13 straight points rallying the Lady Dawgs to a come from behind win in set 2. Celeste Martinez also contributed some clutch serving to help with the victory. A Team totally dominated the Pirates. They sent them over the gang plank sinking them 25-8 and 25 - 6. Cami Chesler handled the largest load scoring 25 points serving over the course of the two sets. The Lady Dawgs travel on their first road trip next Monday to Devine. Congratulations Lady Dawgs. Mark your calendars. Barnes & Noble will host its first ever Mini Maker Faire November 6-8 at select locations. The 7th Grade B Volleyball Team hosted a tournament this past Saturday. The Lady Bulldogs played tremendous, showing effort, hustle and resilience! They played a tough Comfort team in their first match. They lost the first game 18 - 25 but roared back to win the next two 25-23 and 17 - 15. The second match was against Cole Middle School. Once again the Lady Bulldogs lost game 1, this time 20 - 25. But also yet again, they showed how tough they are and won the next two games, 25-23 and 15 - 9. In the their third match of the day, they once again went to 3 games this time against the larger middle school of Medina Valley. The girls changed their strategy and won game one 25-22, but seemed to run out of steam and lost the next two 9-25 and 4-15. It was a great Saturday of volleyball for the team, winning their first 2 matches of the year. All the players contributed to the victories. The Lady Bulldogs are back in action at home, today, Monday Sep 21st hosting the Lytle Pirates. Come out and cheer on all the volleyball teams to victory. 7th Gradeby Coach Frost 7th grade volleyball was in action yesterday against Hondo. The girls B team fought hard but just couldn't get any rallies going and struggled in serve receive. They lost two straight sets 9-25 and 12-25. The A team remains UNDEFEATED in match play. They took an early set back, losing the first game 18-25 before finding their rhythm. Once again demonstrating mental toughness and resilience, the girls bounced back and thumped the Owls two sets in row, 25-19 and 25-17. The Lady Dawgs were led by Cami Chesler, Cailee Schroeder and Madison Brown. 8th Grade
8th Grade "A" Team fell short against Boerne in last nights match.Lost in two games with a score of 25-4 & after we got all nervous jitters out and calmed down, our girls picked up their game and fought a hard game with a score of 25-18. Great job Team!
8th Grade 'B' Team also played but lost with a score 25-8 & 25-13. Great job Ladies and keep up the hard work. The 7th Grade "B" Team fell short in two sets, 10-25 and 12-25. The team is already improving and looking forward to next weeks match. 7th Grade "A" Team once again won in an exciting three sets against Boerne with scores of 26-24, 20-25, and 25-21. It was an awesome team win to push the Lady Bulldogs to 2-0 so far this season! Great job ladies! The lady bulldogs will be in action again next Monday at 5 and 6. Come out and cheer them on to victory! |
