The top two finishers for each of our teams were as follows: 7th grade boys: Bryan Gonzales- 19th and Justin Beal 48th 7th grade girls: Morgan Cole- 7th and Raelynn Butler- 22nd 8th grade boys: Christian McKneely- 29th and Joshua Short 57th 8th grade girls: Kate Cardinal- 15th and Kendra Schwarz- 43rd. Next week girls will run at 4pm and boys at 4:30pm out at Bandera City Park. A little 3D design, a little Lego construction, a little chess playing, a little reading, a little digital design with a Bamboo tablet. The library is a busy place before school.
Ms. Gonzalez's 6th grade social studies class participated in a Skype video call with Erin Cushing, an English teacher at a Japanese public school in Nobeoka, Miyazaki, Japan. Students questioned Ms. Cushing, an American, about adapting to Japanese culture and about how the Japanese have adapted American cultural holidays like Halloween, Valentine's Day, and Christmas to fit Japanese culture. The sixth graders were amazed to hear that Japanese students serve the school lunches and clean their own school. A big Bulldog thank you to Ms. Gonzalez and Ms. Cushing for arranging the Skype experience.
