Mrs. Mitchell and Mrs. Elrod's class recently recreated the water cycle in plastic baggies. They also celebrated Earth Day by making paper from recycled paper, marigold seeds, and water. When the homemade paper dries, they'll be able to cut out a shape to give to a loved one. When the paper is planted, marigolds will sprout. Science is fun!
After days of tinkering with Legos and LittleBits in the BMS Library, Mr. Edwards' student made his vision a reality. He constructed a crane that moves up and down and back and forth, and it picks up an object. The 7th grader encountered many design challenges along the way, but used ingenuity to find just the right combination of materials to make the crane work. He even used a little bit of book tape to stabilize the crane. Well done!
Congratulations to the BMS girls' soccer teams for their efforts in the first-ever BMS soccer game. The A team beat out Fredericksburg 1-0, while the B team lost 5-2. Congratulations to the ten sixth grade students who were recognized Wednesday morning for exemplifying the BISD graduate profile. The students are independent thinkers, accepting of diversity, passionate about learning, academically aggressive, and good people who are servant leaders who characterize integrity, respect, courage, honesty, humility and kindness.
